Some places are beautiful because of the scenery. Others become special because of the memories you’ve made there.
For Roxana and Roberto, Coconut Grove is where their story began. Their very first date was at Mister O1 Pizza in CocoWalk, so when it came time to plan their engagement session, choosing the location was easy. They wanted to go back to where it all started.
I always tell my couples that your engagement session should feel like you. The locations you choose become part of your story, and years from now, these photos will remind you of so much more than just what you looked like. They’ll remind you of this season of your life and the places that mean something to both of you.

We started their session at CocoWalk, right where they had their first date.
It was fun walking through the same place where their relationship began, knowing that now they were back planning a wedding together. Those little details are what make engagement sessions feel personal.

One of the reasons I love photographing engagement sessions in Coconut Grove is because no two sessions ever look the same.
Within just a few blocks, you have beautiful tree-lined streets, quiet sidewalks, charming corners, parks, and so many different backdrops. We spent the evening walking around, stopping whenever we found a spot we loved, and letting the session unfold naturally.
Some of my favorite photos are the ones in between. The conversations, the laughs, and the moments where couples forget they’re even being photographed.

Coconut Grove has a slower pace than the rest of Miami, and that’s one of the reasons I love it so much.
Whether you’re walking through CocoWalk, grabbing coffee together, or exploring the neighborhood, it never feels rushed. It gives couples the chance to relax, enjoy the evening together, and create photos that actually feel like them.
Every engagement session here ends up looking a little different, and that’s exactly how it should be.

One of the biggest pieces of advice I give couples is to choose a location that has a story behind it.
Maybe it’s where you met.
Maybe it’s where you had your first date.
Maybe it’s where you got engaged.
Or maybe it’s just somewhere you love spending time together.
Those places will always mean more than choosing a location just because it’s pretty.
For Roxana and Roberto, going back to CocoWalk made their engagement session feel even more personal, and I know these photos will always remind them of where everything began.
If you’re thinking about taking your engagement photos in Coconut Grove, I’d love to help you plan a session that feels personal to you.
Whether you want to revisit the place where you had your first date, walk through CocoWalk, or simply spend an evening exploring one of Miami’s most beautiful neighborhoods, we’ll create photos that feel natural, relaxed, and true to your story.
If you’re looking for a Coconut Grove engagement photographer or a Miami engagement photographer, I’d love to hear what you have in mind.
At TLC Photos, I capture weddings, engagements, and milestones with artistry and intention, creating timeless imagery that becomes part of your legacy. This blog is an extension of that work, a place where you can find inspiration, behind the scenes stories, and practical guidance to help you feel confident as you plan your own celebration.
My love for photography began at a young age, when I discovered how a single image could capture not just a scene, but a feeling. What started as a natural curiosity grew into a refined craft, shaped by years of experience and a deep appreciation for artistry and detail. Today, I bring that same passion into every wedding and portrait, blending an editorial eye with a calm presence so my clients can feel fully themselves. At the heart of my work is a belief that photographs are more than images. They are the legacy we leave behind, preserved with beauty and intention.
