University of Miami Graduation Photo Locations

If you’re planning your University of Miami graduation photos, choosing the right locations can make your gallery feel much more personal. The University of Miami campus is filled with beautiful places to take graduation photos, from iconic landmarks to the buildings, walkways, and hidden corners that became part of your everyday routine.

After photographing graduates throughout campus, I’ve learned which University of Miami graduation photo locations students request most often. Some are classic UM landmarks, while others are meaningful because they represent the places where your college memories were made.

Here are six of my favorite University of Miami graduation photo locations.

1. The University of Miami U Statue

No University of Miami graduation session feels complete without a stop at the U Statue. It is one of the most recognizable landmarks on campus and usually one of the first locations graduates ask to include.

There are plenty of ways to make these photos feel like you. You can pose with your cap and diploma, pop champagne, toss confetti, or celebrate with the friends who helped you make it to graduation.

Whether you’re earning your bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, MBA, or doctorate, the U Statue deserves a place in your graduation gallery.

2. The Otto G. Richter Library Walkway

If you’ve been a University of Miami student, you’ve probably walked through the Otto G. Richter Library walkway hundreds of times. It’s become an inside joke that so many students use the walkway every day without ever actually going into the library.

Lined with beautiful palm trees, this is one of the most iconic walkways on campus and creates timeless graduation portraits that instantly feel like the University of Miami.

3. Lake Osceola

Lake Osceola is one of the most peaceful places on campus and one that so many students remember long after graduation. From grabbing a Starbucks before class to sitting by the water to study or catch up with friends, it’s a place that became part of everyday college life for many Hurricanes.

The lake offers beautiful scenery, open walkways, and plenty of variety, making it one of my favorite places for University of Miami graduation photography.

4. The Miami Herbert Business School Fountain

For business students, the Miami Herbert Business School fountain is one of the most requested graduation photo locations on campus.

After years of lectures, presentations, networking events, and late nights preparing for exams, there’s something special about celebrating your degree in front of the building where so much of your journey happened.

If you’re graduating from the Miami Herbert Business School, I highly recommend including this stop in your graduation session.

5. Your College or Department Building

One of my favorite parts of every graduation session is visiting the building that meant the most to each graduate.

Whether you studied nursing, business, engineering, architecture, communications, marine science, education, law, medicine, or another program, photographing outside your college building makes your gallery uniquely yours.

These are often the photos that become the most meaningful because they represent where your future career truly began.

6. Your Favorite Spot on Campus

Not every meaningful location has to be a landmark.

Maybe it was the place where you met your best friends during freshman year. Maybe it was the bench where you always studied before finals, the courtyard where you ate lunch between classes, or the path you walked every morning on your way to class.

The best graduation photos aren’t just about showing where you went to school. They’re about remembering what your time there felt like.

That’s why I always encourage graduates to include at least one location that’s personal to them.

How to Choose the Best University of Miami Graduation Photo Locations

If you’re not sure where you’d like to take your graduation photos, don’t worry. I’ll help you plan the perfect route based on your degree, your favorite places on campus, and the type of gallery you envision.

Some graduates want every iconic University of Miami landmark, while others prefer quieter locations that hold special memories. Most sessions include a mix of both, creating a gallery that feels timeless while still telling your story.
