Abril and Rafael celebrated their Miami courthouse wedding at the Miami-Dade Marriage Bureau in Downtown Miami. After making it official, we explored Downtown Miami together before stopping for portraits around the Miami-Dade County Courthouse. The entire morning centered around the two of them. From signing their marriage license to walking through the city as newlyweds, every part of the day reflected who they are as a couple.

There was something so special about how simple and intentional their morning felt.
I met Abril and Rafael at the Miami-Dade Marriage Bureau, where they officially became husband and wife. I love photographing Miami courthouse weddings because every couple experiences the day differently. There isn’t a packed timeline or a long list of events to get through. Instead, couples have the chance to slow down, enjoy the moment, and celebrate together.
Watching them walk out of the Marriage Bureau as newlyweds was one of my favorite moments from the day.

One of the best parts of a Miami courthouse wedding is exploring Downtown afterward. The Marriage Bureau sits within walking distance of so many great portrait locations.
Abril and Rafael decided to stay in Downtown Miami after their ceremony. We walked through the city before heading to the Miami-Dade County Courthouse, stopping whenever a location caught our attention.
Some of my favorite photos came from that walk. They laughed together, talked about the ceremony, and enjoyed those first moments as newlyweds.

The Miami-Dade County Courthouse is one of my favorite places for Miami courthouse wedding portraits.
The architecture creates timeless photos while still capturing the energy of Downtown Miami. Since it’s only a short walk from the Marriage Bureau, couples can enjoy several different backdrops without driving to another location.
Abril and Rafael spent this part of the morning laughing together, talking about the ceremony, and soaking in those first moments as husband and wife.

One of my favorite things about courthouse weddings is how the focus stays exactly where it should be.
It’s about two people making one of the biggest commitments of their lives.
Whether you’re planning an intimate elopement or simply want a meaningful ceremony before celebrating another day, your wedding deserves to be documented just as beautifully as any other celebration.
If you’re getting married at the Miami-Dade Marriage Bureau, I always recommend setting aside time for portraits afterward.
Downtown Miami has so many beautiful locations within walking distance, and adding even 30 to 60 minutes after your ceremony gives you the chance to create wedding photos you’ll treasure for years to come.
Whether you’re planning an intimate courthouse wedding, an elopement, or a larger celebration later on, I’d love to help document this chapter of your story.
If you’re looking for a Miami courthouse wedding photographer, a Downtown Miami elopement photographer, or a Miami elopement photographer, I’d love to hear more about your plans.

At TLC Photos, I capture weddings, engagements, and milestones with artistry and intention, creating timeless imagery that becomes part of your legacy. This blog is an extension of that work, a place where you can find inspiration, behind the scenes stories, and practical guidance to help you feel confident as you plan your own celebration.
My love for photography began at a young age, when I discovered how a single image could capture not just a scene, but a feeling. What started as a natural curiosity grew into a refined craft, shaped by years of experience and a deep appreciation for artistry and detail. Today, I bring that same passion into every wedding and portrait, blending an editorial eye with a calm presence so my clients can feel fully themselves. At the heart of my work is a belief that photographs are more than images. They are the legacy we leave behind, preserved with beauty and intention.
